Some days may begin with everyone heading to the sea together.
On others, each person may follow whatever feels right that day.
Someone might go for a swim, another walk an oreum trail, while someone else spends the afternoon wandering through the village.
As evening comes, everyone returns home.
Food picked up around Jeju comes to the table, a bottle of makgeolli is opened, and the small moments of the day turn into stories.
A home where time together and time of your own can both feel natural.
And where, at the end of the day, everyone can comfortably come together again.
That is what Gahwa (家和) means to us.

A day in Aewol, your way
Morning might begin with sandwiches made from what is in the fridge, coffee brewing, and sunlight falling across the dining table.
Pack something for a picnic and head to the sea together, or simply follow wherever the day takes you.
Walk along the coast, go for a swim, head toward an oreum trail, or come across a seasonal festival or a quiet corner of the village.
When your legs get tired, find a place by the water, sit for a while, and watch the sea.
On the way back, stop by a nearby shop or market and choose whatever sounds good for dinner that evening.
